Today, along with a small group of other travelers, you'll explore The Golden Circle, Iceland's most popular sightseeing route. Your experienced guide will show you the sights, introduce you to Icelandic culture, and tell you stories. 

You'll visit three of Iceland's best-loved attractions on this day. One is the Gullfoss waterfall, which will undoubtedly set the standard for the natural beauty Iceland offers. If you're lucky enough to marvel at its beauty in the sunshine, you'll be treated to the spectacle of rainbows in the mist splashing back from below.

Then, it's time to visit the hot springs, where you can watch the stunning eruptions of the hot spring Strokkur in the Haukadalur geothermal area. This place is also home to the most famous geyser in the world, from which the feature gets its name, the great Geysir, which is now dormant.

Last but not least is the unique Thingvellir National Park. The ridge that characterizes the park is formed due to the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates pulling apart, providing you with the unique opportunity to walk between two continents. Iceland is the only place in the world where this is possible.

You'll also recognize this scenery from Game of Thrones as the Valley to the Eyrie, where both Sansa with Littlefinger and Arya with Sandor “The Hound” Clegane make it to the Vale of Arryn. It's also featured as the location in the North, where we meet the cannibal Thenns just after Jon Snow betrays Ygritte and the other wildlings.

To top off this day of exploration, you could experience the Langjokull glacier on the back of a snowmobile, an expedition that guarantees thrills and fantastic landscapes. You need a driver's license to operate a snowmobile, or you can be a passenger. The minimum age to join a snowmobile tour is six years old. 

If you'd like a more calming experience, you can snorkel in one of the most transparent waters in the world, found in the Silfra fissure. The pure glacial water is filtered through volcanic rock, giving near-perfect clarity and promising a mesmerizing experience. Snorkeling requires you to be at least 12 years old, comfortable in the water, and able to swim.

After a fantastic second day, your driver will take you back to your Reykjavik accommodation.

Today, you'll explore the many wonders of the South Coast. For the next two days, your minibus will pick you up in Reykjavik and whisk you away on your adventure. 

Your first destination will be one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, Seljalandsfoss. This tumbling cascade of water plunges 197 feet (60 meters) down from a curved cliff face. You can walk behind it for a unique view from the elfin-looking grotto.

Then, you'll head to Skogafoss waterfall, which falls from the same height as Seljalandsfoss but crashes down in a broad curtain, creating a powerful image of roaring white on the black cliffs.

Adjacent to the waterfall is a staircase leading to an observation platform, offering a panoramic view of the cascading waters and the vast landscapes beyond. Fans of Game of Thrones might recognize this iconic location as it was used as a backdrop in several scenes, adding to its allure and magnificence.

If you take a glacier hike, you'll strap on your hiking boots and head to the world of white walkers. Solheimajokull is the outlet glacier of Iceland's fourth largest glacier, Myrdalsjokull, which was used for the location of the Fist of the First Men. You'll find the surroundings very familiar as many scenes that would take place Beyond the Wall were filmed in similar landscapes. 

Once equipped with all the necessary gear, your guide will take you across this surreal and epic landscape, almost silent apart from the ice slowly cracking and the sound of your crampons.

You'll continue traveling East to Reynisfjara black beach, famous for its basalt columns and Reynisdrangar sea stacks. You may recognize this coastline as the setting for Eastwatch By the Sea, and it will look far more welcoming when it's not swarming with wights.

After passing the charming town of Vik, the adventure continues to the East. In the evening, you'll retire to a country hotel in Southeast Iceland.

You'll begin the day by traveling to the beautiful Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, one of Iceland's best-loved attractions, with the nickname "The Crown Jewel of Iceland." There, you can let your mind fill with awe and wonder as colossal icebergs drift towards the sea, melting in the sun surrounded by playful seals.

The lagoon results from a warming climate, where the glacier's retreat has formed a sprawling expanse filled with glacial meltwater. As you gaze at the shimmering surface, you might notice the varying hues of blue in each iceberg, a testament to the different ages and densities of the ice. The tranquil environment, combined with the haunting beauty of the floating giants, makes Jokulsarlon a place for profound reflection.

You can cruise among these icy giants on a boat tour of the lagoon if you're visiting between May and October. Amphibian boat tours are perfect for families and photographers. Your vessel will drive into the water and take you on a journey upon Jokulsarlon's crystal waters.

Although this location wasn't used in Game of Thrones, it has featured in several Hollywood blockbusters, including the Bond classic Die Another Day and the 2003 hit movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

You'll also check out the adjacent Diamond beach, where huge pieces of ice wash ashore, sparkling brightly in contrast to the black sand upon which they rest. These ice chunks, remnants of ancient glaciers, glint like gems under the sunlight, making the scene appear otherworldly and ethereal.

After that, you'll head back to Reykjavik with fond memories of the South Coast, arriving in the early evening in time for a night on the town.

Another day, another adventure! Setting off from Reykjavik, you'll now travel west to the Snaefellsnes peninsula, often branded 'Iceland in miniature' for its wealth of varied attractions.

The peninsula is named after the glacier Snaefellsjokull, which sits atop an active volcano. Snaefellsjokull is famous for being featured in the classic novel “Journey to the Centre of the Earth.”

Jules Verne's story describes the glacier as the gateway to an underground adventure. Today, many visitors are drawn to this mystical location for its literary significance, breathtaking beauty, and panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Your first stop will be Ytri-Tunga beach. You might spot seals lazing around on their favorite rocks and playing in the surf if you're lucky. You may even spot Orcas from the shore, one of the only places in Iceland where this is possible.

Arnarstapi and Hellnar are quintessential countryside towns further along the dramatic coastline, and from here, you can admire fantastical geological formations such as the Londrangar cliffs. These sea stacks stand defiantly in the dark ocean, inspiring folklore and legends alike.

You'll have a chance to explore the adjacent beach, Djuplonssandur, which is beautiful for its black pebble composition and features historical lifting stones to test the strength of the fishermen of a bygone era. You'll also see the remains of an old shipwreck.

You'll also visit the “Mountain shaped like an Arrowhead,” which appeared in the Hound's vision in the fire and was the backdrop for the creation story of the first White Walker. This mountain is, of course, Kirkjufell, one of the most photographed locations in Iceland and maybe the world. It's complemented by a nearby waterfall, which together makes for the perfect photo.

Then, it's time to return to Reykjavik for an evening safe from wildlings and white walkers. Enjoy the northernmost capital in the world before retiring to your comfortable accommodation in the city.

You'll begin the day by going to the Reykjavik domestic airport, where you'll board a flight to the capital of the North, Akureyri. Your guide will pick you up from the airport and whisk you to the beautiful Godafoss waterfall. Named the “Waterfall of the Gods,” this site is one of the great mythical locations of North Iceland.

Godafoss falls from 39 feet (12 meters) with a width of 98 feet (30 meters). Keep watch of the water as it cascades and splits into two, resembling a horseshoe.

When you reach the beautiful Myvatn area, you can stretch your legs and admire the fantastic pseudocraters of Skutustadagigar, formed when lava interacts with the water of the surrounding lake.

Your first Game of Thrones stop of the day is the striking lava field of Dimmuborgir, meaning “the Dark Fortress,” which doubled as Mance Rayder's wildling camp from seasons three and four of the series.

The peculiar and rugged rock formations set a dramatic backdrop for the show's events. As you wander through the maze-like paths, you can almost hear the chatter of wildlings and feel the tension that permeated their camp.

Your next stop is the location for Jon Snow and Ygritte's love bath, Grjotagja cave. Icelanders used to bathe in this water until the 1980s, when an earthquake increased geothermal activity, warming the water beyond a comfortable temperature.

You'll also gain a deeper insight into the primordial volcanoes of Iceland at the Namafjall geothermal area, with its bubbling mud pools and steaming fumaroles. A quick stop at the Krafla volcanic site will reinforce this time-travel feeling.

You can finish your day in pure bliss at the picturesque Myvatn Nature Baths, often referred to as the Blue Lagoon in the North. Have a dip and let your mind relive all it has experienced in Iceland before taking your flight back to Reykjavik.

You'll spend the night in Reykjavik, ready for another fantastic day of exploring.

Today, you have a free day to enjoy the capital region in any way you like. Pop into the architecturally brilliant Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre and climb to the top of Hallgrimskirkja to enjoy panoramic views of the entire city.

If you'd rather use the day to experience Iceland to the fullest, you could take a trip into the magma chamber of the Thrihnukagigur volcano. On this tour, you'll descend almost 656 feet (200 meters) closer to the earth's center into the monstrous cave below.

Within the cavern, you'll be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors, with reds, oranges, and yellows painting the walls – a vivid testament to past volcanic activity. The sheer scale of the chamber is awe-inspiring, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As you ascend back to the surface, you'll carry memories of a world few have ever seen.

Another option is to travel to the Langjokull glacier to explore the deep ice tunnels at the glacier summit. Admire the white and blue smooth walls and cherish the unique opportunity to travel through a glacier in the world's largest artificial ice tunnel.

If you'd prefer a more cultural impression of Reykjavik, don't miss the city's many galleries and museums. The Reykjavik Art Museum, split across three venues, boasts an impressive collection of contemporary pieces spotlighting Icelandic and international artists.

Meanwhile, the National Museum of Iceland provides a comprehensive history of the nation from settlement to modern times, offering visitors deep insights into the Icelandic way of life.

For those interested in the architectural prowess of the city, the Nordic House, designed by famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, offers a blend of culture, design, and occasional exhibitions.

However you spend your day, it'll surely be a blast. As evening falls, you can spend your evening immersed in the Reykjavik downtown nightlife, enjoying your last night in the city. Afterward, you'll retire to your Reykjavik city center accommodation.

Your time in Iceland has come to an end. For those who have a later flight and choose to visit the Blue Lagoon today, you'll finish off your stay unwinding before heading to the airport.

Its shores often host ducks, swans, and other birds, especially during the warmer months, making it a delightful spot for nature lovers. Next to the pond is Hljomskalagardur Park, a lovely area perfect for relaxing strolls or people-watching.

Another haven of tranquility is the Reykjavik Botanical Gardens, which displays various Icelandic flora. After exploring the gardens, visitors can settle in at the quaint on-site cafe for a warm beverage or a light snack, rounding off the experience on a delightful note.
