Description

Experience two unforgettable activities in a single day with this fantastic snorkeling and horse-riding combination tour from Reykjavik. Travelers keen to snorkel in crystal-clear waters and see the Icelandic countryside on horseback should book this tour now.

Your day begins at 08:30, with a pick-up from your Reykjavik accommodation. You'll greet your English-speaking guide and the other travelers joining you on the excursion.

This trip offers a small-group experience with a 1:6 guide-to-client ratio. Therefore, you can expect excellent interaction from your guide throughout the day.

First, you'll head to Thingvellir National Park, the site for your snorkeling adventure. Thingvellir is an enchanting UNESCO World Heritage Site with geological and historical significance.

Thingvellir was where the Icelandic parliament started in 930 AD. It's also famous because it lies on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, so you can walk between the continents here.

Today, you'll go one step further than walking and embark on the thrilling activity of snorkeling between the continents in the Silfra fissure.

Silfra is a deep fissure in Thingvallavatn, Iceland's largest lake. It's known for its incredibly clear waters, which offer up to 328 feet (100 meters) of visibility.

Your guide will give you a safety briefing and all the gear you need before you enter the water. You'll wear a dry suit, neoprene hood, and gloves to keep you warm in the icy waters. The dry suit has seals around the neck and wrists to stop water from getting in.

As you enter the water, enjoy the mesmerizing experience of floating with the gentle current and marveling at your otherworldly surroundings. The underwater landscape boasts fascinating rocky terrain and water in surreal shades of turquoise and blue.

You'll spend about 30-45 minutes in the water, and your guide will take underwater photos of you for lasting memories.

After your once-in-a-lifetime snorkeling experience, your guide will take you to Laxnes farm in the Mosfellsdalur valley for your horse-riding tour. You can eat your packed lunch or purchase lunch at the farm when you arrive.

Then, it's time to greet the horses before riding through the beautiful countryside. Icelandic horses are a sturdy breed, well adapted to the country's harsh climate. They are known for being playful and gentle-natured.

You don't need any experience for this 1.5 to 2-hour beginner-friendly ride. Your guide will lead the way while you enjoy the gorgeous scenery and your friendly companion.

Icelandic horses have a unique gait called the 'tolt.' It offers a smooth journey for the rider, where you feel like you're gliding effortlessly across the landscape.

After a wonderful riding experience, you'll say goodbye to the horses, and your guide will take you back to Reykjavik, where the tour ends. You should arrive back at about 17:00.

Don't miss the chance to book this spectacular 8-hour combination tour snorkeling in the Silfra fissure and horse riding through the Icelandic countryside. Check availability now by choosing a date.
