Laxnes Travel Guide
Laxnes is a farm in Mosfellsdalur Valley. Nobel author Halldor Laxness was partly brought up here and adopted the farm's name as his surname.
Laxness later moved back to Laxnes and made his home in a new house he called Gljufrasteinn, which now functions as a museum in his memory. Laxnes has a hotel and a horse rental, taking you through the beautiful landscape of the valley.
