Description

Embark on a South Coast and ATV tour from Reykjavik and visit a plane wreck, a black sand beach, and waterfalls. The tour is perfect for those who want to see some of the South Coast's unique attractions while not forgetting some of the essential sites of Iceland.

Your tour begins in the BSI bus terminal of Reykjavik before your group drives to the Myrdalsjokull glacier. The ride from Reykjavik to the glacier can take more than two hours. Thankfully, you'll be riding a comfortable bus with Wi-Fi, perfect for checking out the beautiful nature of Iceland.

Once you've reached Myrdalsjokull, you'll meet your guide and get your ATV. Before riding them, there'll be a short briefing on their safe use.

As part of this Iceland tour package, you'll get protective clothing and safety equipment, such as a helmet. On your part, make sure to wear warm and appropriate clothes for the weather, a packed lunch, and some snacks and drinks.

Each ATV can accommodate up to two passengers. Bring a valid driver's license if you want to drive one instead of just riding it. Kids as young as eight can join the tour but are not allowed to drive and must be accompanied by an adult.

After everything's ready, you'll depart from Myrdalsjokull and start your ATV adventure of the South Coast. For two hours, you'll enjoy a guided ride at the country's southern shores, Dyrholaey, and Solheimasandur beach.

Dyrholaey is famous for its beautiful view of the South Coast, a historic lighthouse built in the 1920s, and its rock arch. Aside from its physical beauty, Dyrholaey is also home to various bird species, such as eider ducks and puffins in summer.

Solheimasandur beach is known for its black sand and a nearby abandoned plane wreck, the DC-3 aircraft, which has been there since the 1970s. The contrast between this massive chunk of metal on the black sand creates a unique sight that looks like it came from a dystopian movie.

Once your two-hour ATV tour of the South Coast is done, you'll ride the bus again and see two famous waterfalls.

The first waterfall is Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is 200 feet (60 meters) high. There are many ways to see the waterfall, but the most popular way is from behind it, which has always fascinated its visitors.

You'll also visit Skogafoss waterfall, which is only a few miles away from Seljalandsfoss and is almost the same height. This beautiful waterfall is surrounded by luscious cliffs which double as nesting grounds for birds, such as seagulls.

The tour ends after you return to Reykjavik in your comfortable transfer vehicle.

Go on an unforgettable adventure on the South Coast by driving an ATV to visit unique and breathtaking views, from a plane wreck to two famous Icelandic waterfalls. Check availability now by choosing a date.
