Your expert guide will lead you to iconic destinations like dramatic waterfalls, striking black-sand beaches, and the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon—one of Iceland's crown jewels.

One of the highlights of this winter adventure is exploring a stunning blue ice cave beneath Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier. Due to glacial movement, ice caves are constantly changing, making each visit a one-of-a-kind experience. Ice cave availability is limited, so don’t miss your chance to witness this extraordinary phenomenon.

As you travel along the famous Ring Road, you'll encounter two of Iceland’s most stunning waterfalls. Stand behind the mist of Seljalandsfoss waterfall and feel the refreshing spray of Skogafoss waterfall, where shimmering rainbows often appear in the mighty rush of water.

Continue your adventure at Reynisfjara beach, renowned for its mesmerizing black sand, towering basalt columns, and powerful Atlantic waves that crash onto the shore. The beach’s dramatic landscape and otherworldly rock formations attract visitors from around the world.

After Reynisfjara, the charming village of Vik offers a perfect spot to rest. Explore the local scenery and enjoy refreshments before continuing to your next destination.

You’ll then travel to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, where massive icebergs drift in serene waters, creating a scene that’s nothing short of magical. A short walk takes you to Diamond Beach, where sparkling ice chunks scatter across the black sands and shine in the sunlight, completing the spectacle.

This fully guided tour ensures a safe, stress-free journey along Iceland's South Coast. Your knowledgeable guide will share insights into the region’s history, geology, and folklore, while the hassle-free transport allows you to relax and take in stunning views.

The tour includes a comfortable overnight stay at the best available accommodation, ensuring you’re well-rested for your second day of adventure. These accommodations offer a welcoming atmosphere, hearty meals, and excellent service.

Day 1

Day 1 - The South Coast

Your journey starts with a hassle-free pick-up from Reykjavik in a comfortable minibus. As you set off, your guide will share insights about the adventure ahead.

After the city lights fade behind you, you’ll travel along the famous Ring Road through the Icelandic countryside. Your journey leads to Eyjafjallajokull, the volcano hidden beneath a glacier that made global headlines with its 2010 eruption.

Near the base of Eyjafjallajokull glacier volcano, you'll visit the breathtaking 197-foot (60-meter) Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Walk behind it for a unique view, where the cascading water and light mist create an unforgettable sight. Close by is the lesser-known but equally beautiful Gljufrabui waterfall, which you will visit up close.

You'll also see Skogafoss waterfall, a 197-foot (60-meter) cascade that once marked the coastline of Iceland during the last Ice Age. Next, visit Reynisfjara beach, where the Atlantic Ocean crashes against the black sand. Take in the stunning scenery before heading to Vik, where you can unwind and enjoy some refreshments.

Afterward, your adventure continues to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, a serene and captivating destination where you'll witness huge pieces of ice drifting slowly into the sea. The blue water, filled with large icebergs, creates a striking view against the surrounding landscape—a rare and special sight you'll never forget.

Nearby, Diamond Beach awaits, where glistening ice chunks rest on the black sand, creating a surreal and unforgettable contrast. The sight is truly one-of-a-kind, with the ice shimmering against the dark sand in a remarkable display of nature's beauty.

As night falls, you’ll settle into a cozy hotel in South or Southeast Iceland. Your guide will share tips on where to look for the northern lights, and if the aurora forecast is favorable, you may have the chance to witness this stunning natural display.

Day 2

Day 2 - Ice Caving

The excitement of ice cave exploration will dominate today's journey. Ice caving is an unforgettable experience in Iceland's frozen wilderness.

When exploring an ice cave, good hiking shoes are essential, as it will take a few minutes to hike to the cave. Your boots should cover your ankles to keep your feet dry from meltwater.

It's important to stay mindful and follow your guide's advice. Glaciers are truly spectacular, but visiting them is best done with a professional guide and proper equipment.

After gearing up with your helmet and crampons, you’ll embark on an exciting journey up the glacier in a powerful super jeep specially equipped for icy terrain. You'll visit the best available ice cave, carefully chosen every day by our expert guides, based on visibility conditions to ensure the ultimate experience.

For at least 30 minutes, you'll explore the beautiful Crystal Ice Cave, one of Iceland’s most famous glacier caves. Inside, you’ll see a world of glowing blue ice with walls shimmering like jewels. The ice formations around you create a breathtaking scene that’s perfect for capturing unforgettable photos.

As you walk through the glistening natural passages, your guide will share interesting facts about the ice caves in Vatnajokull glacier, helping you appreciate these incredible natural wonders. The air is cool and crisp, adding to the surreal atmosphere.

During the drive back to Reykjavik, you'll once again pass through the beautiful stretch of coastline on Iceland's south shore. You'll travel near Breidamerkurjokull, the glacier tongue that feeds Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, and take in the breathtaking views before heading back to Reykjavik in the evening.

Along the way, your guide will point out anything that you may have missed the day before. If conditions are right, you may even have another opportunity to look for the northern lights.

You'll arrive in Reykjavik in the evening, and it is recommended that you do not plan to fly from Keflavik International Airport on the same night, especially if there are potential delays or bad weather. Instead, go for a stroll and take in what the city has to offer.

Good to know

For a smoother journey, only hand luggage is allowed on this tour. If you have larger bags, storage options are available in Reykjavik. Packing light will help you enjoy Iceland’s beautiful landscapes more comfortably.

Pick-up and drop-off are available only from designated locations in the greater Reykjavik area, not from Keflavik International Airport. Consider starting the tour after your arrival day to make the most of your trip. We recommend staying an extra night before your flight home for a stress-free return.

While there is no dedicated northern lights hunt on this tour, you still have a great chance to see them if conditions are right. The aurora is a natural phenomenon, so sightings can’t be guaranteed, but your guide will monitor the forecast and let you know when the weather is favorable.

Your accommodation is based on your group size. Solo travelers get a single room, pairs share a double, and groups of three or more are placed in triple rooms when available. If you have special requests, let the provider know, and they’ll try to accommodate you.

As you prepare for your adventure, wear shoes with slip-resistant soles to stay comfortable and safe. Ice-grip covers are a great option and can be purchased at most supermarkets and gas stations. With the right gear and an adventurous spirit, you're set for an unforgettable journey.
