Experience the majestic beauty of Iceland on this 10-hour guided tour of the South Coast’s stunning waterfalls, striking black sand beaches, and impressive glaciers. This itinerary offers an unforgettable day in Iceland’s diverse landscapes with the ease of a guided experience.
The tour begins with a convenient morning pick-up in Reykjavik. For nine to 10 hours, you’ll enjoy seamless transportation onboard a minibus with free Wi-Fi and comfortable seats.
This small-group tour is designed for a more personal experience, with a friendly, knowledgeable guide who will share stories and insights about the places you visit. The group size is kept small to allow flexibility and ensure that everyone has a memorable day.
The journey begins with a visit to Seljalandsfoss waterfall, a remarkable cascade known for the path that lets you walk behind the falling water for a more immersive experience. If you want to circle the water curtain and not get wet, make sure to pack waterproof clothing or an outer layer.
Next, the tour heads to Skogafoss waterfall, a powerful waterfall with a drop of 200 feet (60 meters). Skogafoss is famous for its wide curtain of water and the rainbows that frequently appear at its base.
Bring your camera, as these two waterfalls are among the most photogenic in Iceland. They also have interesting stories that you can know more about from your guide.
Moving toward the coast, you’ll stop at Reynisfjara, the most iconic black sand beach in the land of fire and ice. The beach is an excellent sightseeing and photography location because of its stretches of black sands, basalt columns, unique sea stacks, and roaring Atlantic waves.
Nearby, the charming village of Vik offers a glimpse of coastal Icelandic life. This southernmost village in mailand Iceland features breathtaking views, historical buildings, and a few souvenir shops.
One of the highlights of the day is a stop at Solheimajokull glacier, where you’ll have the chance to view this magnificent glacier tongue. Solheimajokull is part of the larger Myrdalsjokull ice cap. It is famous for its icy and rugged terrain.
Standing at the edge of the glacier, you’ll witness the mighty scale and beauty of Iceland’s glacial landscapes, making this a memorable addition to the day.
Depending on weather and group preferences, additional stops may be made to capture the ever-changing Icelandic landscapes. There will also be a stop for lunch, but meal costs will not be included in the tour price.
After a full day of exploration, the minibus will bring you back to Reykjavik, with your head filled with the remarkable sights of Iceland’s South Coast.
