Private 11-Hour South Coast Tour with Photo Package and Transfer from Reykjavik
Description
Summary
Description
Join this private tour on the South Coast of Iceland to see waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches, and more breathtaking landscapes. This 11-hour itinerary offers the convenience of a private local guide-photographer and a souvenir photo package to commemorate the experience.
This sightseeing and photography tour begins in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. For a hassle-free start to your journey, the guide will pick you up from your hotel.
In addition to the attractions of the South Coast, this excursion highlights a 15 or 24-shot photo package captured by your guide, who doubles as a professional photographer. While introducing you to each stop, they will take portrait, landscape, and action images with the attractions as your backdrop.
The South Coast is one of the most visited regions in Iceland because of its diverse natural features and proximity to Reykjavik. Nature lovers can explore its highlights along the coastline all in just one day.
Your first stop in the region is the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, cascading from a tall cliff of 200 feet (60 meters). Its main draw is the immersive viewing and photography experience it provides through the small cave behind its water curtain.
Next in your itinerary is another waterfall called Skogafoss, boasting the same height as the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You can view its thunderous cascade at the lush valley at the bottom or climb the staircase leading to its highest cliffs. Either way, you’ll get an excellent view that sometimes has rainbows on a sunny day.
Nearby, the Solheimajokull glacier awaits your private group for some sightseeing and photo opportunities. Although the tour doesn’t include hiking atop the ice cap itself, the guide will take you closer to the edge to see its frozen wilderness, rugged ridges, and small pools of water.
While admiring the glacier and taking some photos, you’ll learn insights about the history and formation of Solheimajokull. Feel free to ask your guide questions.
Continuing your journey, you’ll encounter the Dyrholaey peninsula. The peninsula provides a stunning view of the surrounding rock arch and black coastline. During summer, it’s home to nesting seabirds, including the adorable puffins.
The last stop of your itinerary is the most iconic black sand beach in Iceland, Reynisfjara. The Reynisfjara black sand beach features long stretches of volcanic sands framed by the mighty waves of the North Atlantic Ocean. It also has basalt cliffs, a cave, and sea stacks.
After a remarkable day on the South Coast, the guide will drop you off at your hotel in Reykjavik.
Please note that the photo package will be sent to your email via a downloadable link within 14 days after the tour. Each participant will receive 15 or 24 edited photos of the experience.
