Mývatn Snowmobiling 1 hour tour provides an incredible oportunity to explore the Lake Mývatn nature reserve from a new prespective. During the winter months, snowmobiles are by many thought to be the best way to explore the Lake Mývatn area. 

Mývatn Snomwmobile tour is a family run tour, the meeting point is at our farm, "Hella" and the tour is run mostly on the private property of the family, within the Mývatn nature reserve. For many years the family has used and enjoyed snowmobiles to explore the region, both for leasure and also for work. The idea of the tour is for you to experience the "back country" of Mývatn area on a snowmobile. Explore little known, off the map locations that can be found within the area: Explosion craters, islands of Mývatn lake, ruins of old abandoned farmes, and much more. 

Itinerary: 

The tour starts at Mývatn Snowmobile base camp (if you don't have a car, we offer pickup service at an extra cost per person). At the base you meet your guide, who will help you find helmets and overalls fitting your size. We go over all safety features you need to keep in mind and show you all the tricks about driving and operating a snowmobile. Just before we go, your guide will go over the route and how we drive in a single formation at a safe speed.

The tour is a one-hour snowmobile tour with a few stops to admire the landscape, take photos and learn about the area. The focus of the tour is both to experience snowmobile riding but also to visit locations out of the reach of others.  During the tour guests who share rides will have time to switch places so everyone has a chance to try driving. 

Attention: It is important to have a valid drivers license for those intending to drive the snowmobiles.
