Description
Summary
Description
Join this combination diving tour in Iceland to explore the underwater depths of the Silfra and Davidsgja fissures on the Golden Circle. Thrill-seekers who want to check off one of the top diving sites in the world and its lesser-known sibling fissure will love the itinerary of this adventure tour.
For convenience, your eight-hour combo tour in Iceland begins with a pick-up in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. The guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on an hour's drive to the Thingvellir National Park.
During the short drive, the guide will share exciting stories and trivia about your destinations. You'll learn about the geological history and features of the Silfra fissure and its neighboring Davidsgja crack. Feel free to ask them questions if you have anything in mind.
In addition, your guide is a certified and experienced dive instructor. They are experts in navigating both diving sites and will keep you safe while taking you to the best underwater spots. They will also make sure to capture a few action photos for you.
The first leg of your adventure is a diving tour of the Silfra fissure, one of the most famous diving sites in the world. Before jumping on the water, the guide will give you a safety briefing and help you suit up with diving equipment, including the drysuit, snorkel, gloves, and more.
Once ready, you'll begin descending into the submerged world of Silfra. One of the most enchanting aspects of Silfra is its remarkable visibility. The glacial water, filtered through porous lava rock, boasts an incredible clarity. You'll be able to marvel at the smallest details of the fissure, including the delicate algae that cling to the rocks.
Your guide will lead you through the four sections of the fissure, namely the Silfra Big Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. Each site offers breathtaking views of underwater canyons, crevices, and rock formations of diverse colors.
After your Silfra dive, you'll have a short break to prepare for the second part of your combo tour. You'll warm up with cookies and chocolates before proceeding to the nearby Davidsgja fissure.
Davidsgja, also known as David's Crack, is a favorite snorkeling and scuba diving spot for local adventurers. It remains a hidden spot compared to Silfra, so fewer tourists would venture here, making it less crowded.
The maximum depth to explore here is around 69 feet (21 meters). With luck on your side, you may even see trout and other fishes swimming with you as it's very close to the Thingvallavatn lake.
After an unforgettable back-to-back Thingvellir exploration, you will drive back to Reykjavik, marking the end of your exploration.
See colorful rocks, canyons, and rare vegetation underwater on this diving tour to the Silfra and Davidsgja fissures. Check availability now by choosing a date.
