Your trusty companion for this tour, the Icelandic horse, is renowned for its deep-rooted history and tradition. Introduced to Iceland by early Viking settlers over a thousand years ago, this purebred has remained isolated from other breeds, preserving its unique characteristics.
Icelandic horses are known for their resilience, playful nature, and unique gaits called the "tolt" and the "flying pace." Enjoy a smooth and comfortable journey riding an Icelandic horse, even over uneven terrains.

The journey becomes even more exhilarating with numerous river crossings. Feel the thrill as the cool waters brush against the horse's legs, showcasing your trusty companion's poise and calm demeanor.
Venturing into the expansive landscapes of the river delta Heradsvotn, riders might have the opportunity, depending on the season, to enjoy birdwatching or gather sweet crowberries during a short break. The delta boasts natural beauty and provides the ideal terrain to experience the tolt, the special gait that sets the Icelandic horse apart.
The terrains of North Iceland are a visual treat. Expansive meadows stretch into the distance, intersected by meandering rivers, all set against towering mountains. Each turn offers new vistas, ensuring riders remain enthralled by their surroundings.
