Description
Summary
Description
Don't miss the perfect evening out in Reykjavik. The Reykjavík Beer & Schnapps Tour is an excellent choice for those seeking a lively night out, new friends, and some local culture.
You'll visit three excellent bars and sample ten microbrew beers or five Icelandic schnapps, which is ample to give you a nice warm buzz before you start dancing in Reykjavik. You don't have to be a huge beer lover to enjoy our tour as your expert guides will experiment with different styles to cater to diverse tastes. And if you prefer the schnapps, you will get the chance to sample some unique ones on this tour.
Some of the beers or schnapps you will try on the tour are not to be found anywhere else in Iceland, and can only be experienced in one of the unique bars you will visit, such as one beer made with Skyr, an Icelandic yoghurt.
You will also sample Brennivín (if you are up for it), the unique Icelandic spirit that's sometimes called Black Death when it's exported, for its strong taste.
Your expert guide will introduce you to the exciting and funny history of beer and alcohol Iceland, in particular, the prohibition of beer that started in 1915 and was only lifted in 1989. They will also tell you all about the microbrewery revolution that began in 2006 in Iceland, how the country now has over 30 microbreweries operating.
Your group's meetup place is by Ingólfstorg Square downtown, and it's a very short walk to your first bar, but please keep in mind you are in Iceland so dress in layers. In your first bar, you'll start with a flight of 5 different seasonal beers available or schnapps before you head to the second to sample another five different flavors of beer based on what's available at that moment or three spirits; no beer & schnapps tour is the same.
Finally, you'll head out to our final bar where you will be a great beer to round of the evening with Your Friend In Reykjavik
