Description

Explore the beautiful Reykjanes Peninsula and get professional photos to remember your vacation when you book this half-day excursion. Those eager to see some of Iceland's most stunning natural sights should book this private tour now.

Your tour begins with pick-up at your accommodation in Reykjavik. You'll meet the experienced tour guide, a professional photographer, who leads you on the day's adventure. This is a private tour, meaning it will be just you and your group, and you can get plenty of fantastic photos to help you remember your time in Iceland.

The Reykjanes Peninsula is a landmass in Southwest Iceland that spans approximately 640 square miles (over 1,000 square kilometers). It's known for its diverse natural wonders and is dominated by a volcanic landscape with rugged lava fields, geothermal areas, and dramatic cliffs along its coastline.

On your first tour stop, you'll drive around the Fagradalsfjall volcano. It erupted in 2021 and 2022 and drastically changed the landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula. Your guide will tell you about the eruptions as you enjoy the incredible views.

Next, you'll continue to Kleifarvatn, the largest lake in the area, spanning approximately 5.7 square miles (over 9 square kilometers). The lake has crystal-clear waters that reflect the vivid colors of the sky and nearby mountains.

Next, you'll head to the Seltun geothermal area, home to a surreal landscape of bubbling mud pots, steaming vents, beautiful hot springs, and fumaroles. The striking reds, oranges, and yellows contrast with the barren surroundings — it's like something from another planet.

Visitors can explore wooden boardwalks that wind through the area, allowing them to see the powerful forces of nature up close. Seltun offers an excellent opportunity to understand Iceland's geothermal activity and geological wonders.

From here, the guide will take you to the Krysuvikurbjarg cliffs. These spectacular coastal cliffs are home to thousands of birds during the summer and have gorgeous views.

You'll stop for lunch in Grindavik to eat Icelandic fish and chips before continuing to the Brimketill lava pool. This natural pool has been created by the erosion of the surrounding volcanic rock — you'll get magnificent coastal views and, on a clear day, can see the Reykjanesviti lighthouse in the distance.

On the way back, you'll drive past Gunnuhver geothermal area with its boiling steam vents and fumaroles. Your last stop is the Bridge Between Continents, a symbolic bridge situated in the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.

At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped off back at your accommodation in Reykjavik. Your guide will send you up to 20 professionally edited photos of you and your friends at the various sights.

Take advantage of this sightseeing tour of the Reykjanes peninsula with a professional photographer, exploring some of the natural wonders that Iceland is famous for. Check availability now by choosing a date.
