Description
Go through a relaxing mind and body experience after a long flight by booking this Sky Lagoon tour. This energizing and rejuvenating experience takes you about 5.4 miles (8.7 kilometers) from downtown Reykjavik to a geothermal spa with state-of-the-art amenities for your pleasure and convenience.
The tour begins when a friendly driver picks you up from Keflavik Airport in a comfortable vehicle. The hassle-free drive from the airport to Reykjavik and the Sky Lagoon will take just over half an hour.
Drawing inspiration from nature and culture, the Sky Lagoon offers a unique geothermal spa experience with amazing views of the North Atlantic Ocean stretching right before you. While immersing in the spa, you can see the breathtaking sunset or even the stunning northern lights, depending on when you visit the Sky Lagoon.
One of the most appealing parts of the Sky Lagoon experience is the Skjol Ritual. It is a unique seven-step approach that’ll help you maximize the Icelandic bath culture differently.
Step 1, called Laug, involves immersing into the lagoon’s calming warm waters while breathing the fresh Icelandic air. In Kuldi or Step 2, you’ll dip into the glacier-fresh pool for some cold water therapy. This step helps increase blood flow while stimulating the immune system and tightening the skin.
For Step 3, you’ll head to the sauna and relax for about five to 10 minutes. The sauna’s heat will help open up your pores, leading to the removal of toxins and cleansing of the skin. As you relax, you’ll be treated to majestic views of the sea and the sky.
For Step 4 or Suld, you’ll slowly step into a space with cold fog-mist to stimulate and rejuvenate your mind and body.
Step 5 focuses on exfoliating and reinvigorating your skin through Sky Lagoon’s signature Sky Body Scrub. The scrub features almond and sesame seed oils applied slowly and gently to the skin.
For Step 6, you’ll get another round of steaming to open up your pores and allow absorption of the Skjol Bathing Ritual’s key therapeutic elements. Moreover, it boosts and maximizes the Sky Body Scrub’s hydrating benefits.
For Step 7, you’ll cap the experience by having the opportunity to sample a tasty juice made of kraekiber, a crowberry that can be found in Iceland.
There are different ways to experience the Sky Lagoon, depending on your preferred time and the features you wish to enjoy. You can choose from two packages, Saman Pass or Ser Pass, which you need to book separately from this transfer.
Saman Pass is the classic package, which includes entrance to the Sky Lagoon, the Skjol Ritual, towel use, and access to public changing facilities.
Meanwhile, the Sky Lagoon Ser Pass comes with all the features of the Saman Pass but with access to private changing facilities.
The Sky Lagoon is also home to the Sky Cafe, serving delicious light meals like soups, sandwiches, and Icelandic specialties in a rustic cafe style. Alternatively, there’s Smakk Bar, serving authentic local dishes and drinks.
Once you've enjoyed your time here, you can continue your holiday in Iceland refreshed and revitalized.
