Description
Summary
Description
Set out on a full-day minibus tour around the iconic sites of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle with several additional stops. Those eager to see the country’s magnificent well-known features and hidden gems with an expert guide and guaranteed small group will find no better tour.
You’ll start your day when you are picked up in Reykjavik and whisked out of the city. Your first destination, Thingvellir National Park, is only 45 minutes away and gives you the chance to drive through some beautiful rural and lava landscapes. Your guide will tell you all about the surrounding nature, local folk tales, and life in Iceland as you do.
Thingvellir is famous for many reasons. It sits right between two tectonic plates and boasts forests, springs, and stunning mountain views. Furthermore, it is renowned for its history, being the site of the country’s original parliament.
You’ll get to see its hidden waterfall, Oxararfoss, before moving on.
Next, you will travel to the Geysir Geothermal Area, a place renowned for its hot springs and active geysers. Strokkur goes off every five minutes or so, so you’ll get to see it erupt several times!
You’ll then head to the final primary site of the Golden Circle, the waterfall of Gullfoss. The power of this feature is mesmerizing, thundering with incredible force into a deep canyon.
While most Golden Circle tours end here, you have four different sites to visit. Fridheimar tomato farm is a fascinating geothermal greenhouse where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. At Efstidalur dairy farm, you can meet the animals and eat ice cream for dessert.
You will also take a short hike to the breathtaking Kerid Crater, where you can marvel over the vivid red rocks and blue water. Your guide will then return you to Reykjavik.
Explore the Golden Circle and its surrounding sites over a full day with a small group by grabbing your place on this tour now. Check availability by choosing a date.
