Your guide will provide you with a safety briefing upon arrival to the ice cap where you will also be provided with all of the necessary glacier gear to be able to safely explore Falljökull glacier and have your mind blown by the stunning icefall that the "Falling Glacier" has to offer.
During the tour, you will be accompanied by a certified glacier guide who will tell you all about the formations of the glacier, so you can gain a deeper understanding of the mesmerizing Icelandic nature. This tour doesn't require prior experience. Hiking boots should be tight around the ankle and have a hard sole. You can rent shoes during the booking process. Skaftafell is located around 4 hours and 30 minutes from Reykjavík 327km (203 miles). The nearest towns to Skaftafell are Kirkjubæjarklaustur, 69km to the west, and Höfn, 130km to the east.
Jeans are not recommended for this activity. Instead, wear warm layers and waterproof clothing to stay dry and comfortable during the tour.
