Description

Discover the most beautiful waterfalls in South Iceland with this ten-hour tour of the South Coast. Travelers keen to see the highlights of southern Iceland and visit some of the country's most famous waterfalls should book this day tour now.

The day begins at the bus stop next to Hallgrimskirkja church in Reykjavik. Your expert local guide will pick you up and take you out of the city to visit six Icelandic waterfalls.

Your guide for the day is a qualified geologist who can teach you about the waterfalls and the volcanic activity for which Iceland is famous. You'll enjoy a small group experience suitable for adults and children of all ages.

The tour's first stop is Thorstein's Grove, a hidden gem many visitors to Iceland overlook. You can explore caves surrounding the waterfall, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and learn about its formation.

Next, you'll continue to the Gluggafoss waterfall, another location travelers often miss. Go inside a small cave near the waterfall to get up close and understand its power. You can also learn about how volcanic activity has shaped the area.

The third and fourth stops of the day are the Gljufrabui and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland and has a cave behind it that you can enter to see the falls from every direction. It's an incredible place to visit, and you'll get some gorgeous photos.

The Gljufrabui waterfall is just around the corner from Seljalandsfoss and is hidden in a narrow canyon, a breathtaking scene to behold. You'll want to bring waterproof layers for this stop. You may get wet, but seeing this natural beauty is worth it.

From here, you'll drive onward to the Skogafoss waterfall, another of the most famous sights in South Iceland. It's one of the largest waterfalls in the country, with a drop of around 200 feet (60 meters) and a staggering width of 82 feet (25 meters). Hike up to the top of the waterfall to get the best view.

The final stop is the Kvernufoss waterfall, the hidden neighbor of Skogafoss. Kvernufoss is within a small canyon, and the volcanic cliffs surrounding it conceal it from view.

After a busy day of exploring the southern coastline and its many waterfalls, you'll drive back to Reykjavik and arrive in time for a relaxing evening.

Don't miss your chance to visit six waterfalls with this family-friendly tour of Iceland's South Coast. Check availability now by choosing a date.
