Your PADI scuba diving experience begins with a pick-up in Reykjavik. You will be transported to the course location and meet your certified instructor.
For the next 10 hours, professional and experienced scuba divers will guide you through each step. They will help you become a certified and confident PADI Dry Suit Diver in both theory and practice.
Throughout the experience, they will ensure you have a thorough knowledge of dry suit diving with an emphasis on safety and fun. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to ask them anytime.
All necessary diving equipment, PADI certification fee, and a knowledge development session are included in the course package. It also highlights one confined open water session and two open water dives.
With its glittering glacial water and stunning submerged caverns like Silfra, Iceland is among the most beautiful places on Earth to earn your PADI Dry Suit Diver qualification. This course is the perfect opportunity for experienced divers looking to expand into cold-water scuba or for new underwater adventurers eager for an exciting challenge during their trip.
Scuba diving in cold water requires a different set of skills than diving in warm, tropical waters. Becoming a certified dry suit diver means you will learn new ways to control your buoyancy, such as releasing excess air from your feet or adding air through a chest valve.
Please keep in mind that this is a physically demanding activity. First, your instructor will spend a morning with you in the pool, completing your confined water session.
Second, your two open-water dives will provide ample practice in the cold Icelandic waters, better preparing you for future adventures. Your dives in the ocean or an open water location will reveal the hidden beauty beneath Iceland’s coastal waters.
It will also instill in you a level of confidence you could never have believed possible.
Please note that dive sites are determined on the day of the course and depend on weather and sea conditions.
Upon completing the course, you’ll earn your PADI Dry Suit Diver certification, enabling you to dive confidently in cold-water destinations worldwide, including the Silfra fissure.
