Description

Explore North Iceland, discover some of its best natural sights, and learn more about Icelandic culture by booking this incredible guided excursion with hot spring bathing. Those eager to see beautiful waterfalls and relax in geothermal waters should book this tour now.

Your tour starts in Akureyri. You can add collection from your accommodation or meet at the starting point. You'll meet the expert local guide and the other tour participants. Get comfortable on the minibus and use the free Wi-Fi onboard as you drive to your first destination.

The tour's first stop is the incredible Godafoss waterfall. To get here, you'll drive along the Eyjafjordur fjord, one of Iceland's longest fjords. Enjoy the views from the window as your guide tells you more about it.

Godafoss waterfall, or "Waterfall of the Gods," is a prominent waterfall in Iceland located on the Skjalfandafljot River. It's around 98 feet (30 meters) wide and 39 feet (12 meters) high, creating a stunning semi-circular drop.

According to legend, a local leader threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall after Iceland officially converted to Christianity around 1,000 A.D. This is where the waterfall gets its name.

Sometimes, you will see a rainbow in the mist above the water, created by the sun reflecting off the crashing cascade. Your guide will help you take good photos of this.

Next, you'll head to the Laufas museum. Laufas museum is a heritage site that showcases traditional Icelandic turf houses.

These houses, with their thick grass-covered walls and wood frames, give insight into how Icelanders lived from the Medieval period until the late 19th century. The museum displays various artifacts and furnishings from this time, offering a glimpse into rural Icelandic life as it would have been hundreds of years ago.

The last stop of the day is the Forest Lagoon geothermal spa. On the way, you'll briefly stop at Eyjafjordur to take a photo of the spectacular view over the fjord to Akureyri, North Iceland's largest town.

Nestled within a birch forest, the Forest Lagoon geothermal spa offers a unique experience combining natural hot springs with the tranquility of a woodland setting. The lagoon features warm, mineral-rich waters that are perfect for relaxing and soaking.

Facilities include changing rooms, a small cafe, and scenic walking paths. Open year-round, the Forest Lagoon geothermal spa provides a peaceful retreat where visitors can enjoy the soothing waters surrounded by nature's beauty. Please note that entry to the Forest Lagoon is not included in the price of the tour.

When you feel relaxed and recharged, your driver will take you back to your accommodation in Akureyri.

Enjoy sightseeing in North Iceland before relaxing in the rejuvenating waters of the Forest Lagoon geothermal spa. Check availability now by choosing a date.
