Your Icelandic adventure begins the moment you step off the plane at Keflavik International Airport. As you breathe the crisp, cool air, you’ll notice the dramatic lava fields stretching into the distance, shaped by centuries of volcanic activity. Your transfer will take you to Reykjavik, the world's northernmost capital, where incredible sights and experiences await.
If you have time, why not start your journey with a visit to the world-famous Blue Lagoon?
Hidden within a mossy lava field, this geothermal spa is known for its milky-blue waters, soothing warmth, and mineral-rich mud masks that leave your skin feeling refreshed. Whether you want to unwind in the steamy pools or enjoy a luxury spa treatment, it’s a perfect way to ease into your trip.
If your flight schedule doesn’t allow a visit today, no worries, as your travel consultant can arrange it for another day.
Regardless of how you start your eight-day summer vacation in Iceland, your journey to Reykjavik takes you through the raw beauty of the Reykjanes peninsula, home to black sand beaches, crater lakes, and rugged volcanic landscapes. This region offers a stunning first glimpse of Iceland’s otherworldly scenery before you reach the heart of the capital.
Once you arrive, Reykjavik is yours to explore.
The city is known for its rich history, creative culture, and fantastic dining scene, where you can enjoy everything from traditional Icelandic dishes to international flavors. Take a leisurely stroll through the Old Harbor, where colorful fishing boats line the docks, and whale-watching tours set off into the Atlantic.
One of Reykjavik’s most striking landmarks is Harpa Concert Hall, a modern architectural masterpiece with a glass facade that lights up beautifully at night. Just a short distance away, Perlan Museum offers an immersive experience of Iceland’s natural wonders, where you can step inside a recreated ice cave and take in breathtaking 360° views of the city.
No trip to Reykjavik is complete without visiting Hallgrimskirkja, the city’s iconic church. Its towering design was inspired by Iceland’s volcanic basalt columns, and the view from the top is one of the best in the city.
As the evening winds down, you’ll head to your accommodation in Reykjavik, getting some well-earned rest before tomorrow’s adventure.
Next, you'll set off on the legendary Golden Circle, where powerful geysers, cascading waterfalls, and stunning landscapes await!

- Geysir geothermal area
- Gullfoss waterfall

Your first full day in Iceland is packed with breathtaking sights as you set off on the legendary Golden Circle, the country’s most famous sightseeing route.
This mini-bus guided tour takes you through landscapes shaped by nature’s most powerful forces—where tectonic plates pull apart, geysers explode, and glacial rivers carve dramatic waterfalls. Get ready for an unforgettable day of exploration!
Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland’s first democratic parliament was founded over 1,000 years ago. Even more striking are the two massive tectonic plates, linking Europe and America, pulling apart. It forms deep fissures in the earth, including Silfra, a water-filled canyon with some of the clearest water on the planet.
If you're up for an adventure, snorkel between two continents in Silfra, where glacial waters offer visibility over 328 feet (100 meters). Floating through its vibrant blue depths is an experience like no other.
From Thingvellir, you'll continue to the iconic Geysir geothermal area, where Iceland’s hot springs put on a show. While the original Great Geysir has become dormant, its sibling Strokkur erupts every five to ten minutes, shooting steaming water high into the air. The ground trembles before each eruption, making it an exhilarating sight. Be sure to have your camera ready!
The final stop on the Golden Circle is Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most awe-inspiring waterfalls. Fed by glacial meltwater from Langjokull Glacier, the Hvita ("White River") crashes down 98 feet (30 meters) in two dramatic tiers, disappearing into a misty canyon.
On sunny days, rainbows often form in the mist. Standing at the edge, you’ll feel the cool spray on your skin and hear the deep, thundering roar of this incredible force of nature.
For those craving more adventure, you can take things up a notch with an optional snowmobiling tour on Langjokull glacier. From Gullfoss, you'll ride across Iceland’s second-largest glacier, speeding over its frozen expanse for a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Prefer to unwind? Visit the Blue Lagoon, a world-famous geothermal spa surrounded by lava fields. If you’ve booked other activities today, visiting on your arrival or departure day lets you fully enjoy its soothing, mineral-rich waters.
After an unforgettable day exploring geysers, waterfalls, and glaciers, you’ll return to Reykjavik, where the evening is yours to enjoy. If it’s the weekend, you might want to check out the city’s lively bars and nightlife before heading back to your accommodation.
Rest up—because tomorrow, your adventure continues along Iceland’s stunning South Coast, home to black-sand beaches, towering cliffs, and waterfalls so powerful you can walk behind them.

Prepare for an unforgettable journey along Iceland’s stunning South Coast, where towering waterfalls, ancient glaciers, and volcanic black-sand beaches create a landscape unlike anywhere else.
Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring a warm jacket—the elements here are as powerful as they are beautiful!
Your first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a spectacular waterfall that plunges 200 feet (60 meters) over rugged black cliffs. It’s fed by meltwater from Eyjafjallajokull, the volcano that made headlines with its 2010 eruption. A hidden pathway leads behind the cascading water, giving you a rare and breathtaking perspective.
A short drive away, you’ll reach Skogafoss, a majestic waterfall that drops 197 feet (60 meters) with a thunderous roar. On sunny days, the mist creates dazzling double rainbows that dance over the falls. If you’re up for a climb, a staircase of over 500 steps leads to a panoramic viewpoint at the top, where you can see the river winding through the mossy highlands.
Next, you’ll have the chance to step onto Solheimajokull glacier, an outlet of the massive Myrdalsjokull ice cap. If you opt for a guided glacier hike, your expert guide will equip you with crampons and ice axes before leading you across the ancient, sometimes miles-thick ice.
Your next stop is Reynisfjara black sand beach, one of Iceland’s most striking coastal sights. Here, the mighty Atlantic ocean crashes onto volcanic sands, framed by towering hexagonal basalt columns that look like something out of a fantasy world.
Off the shore, the Reynisdrangar sea stacks rise dramatically from the ocean, while in the distance, the Dyrholaey arch, where puffins keep their nests, stands as a natural gateway to the sea.
But be cautious, as the waves here are unpredictable and powerful. Known as sneaker waves, they can surge suddenly.
Tonight, you’ll settle in Southeast Iceland, where tomorrow, you’ll see a landscape of drifting icebergs and a shoreline sparkling with frozen gems—an unforgettable sight in the land of fire and ice.

- Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
- Diamond Beach
- More
Today, you’ll visit one of Iceland’s most breathtaking natural wonders: Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon.
This vast, ice-filled lake is a mesmerizing sight, where towering icebergs break off from a nearby glacier and drift through the serene, glassy waters toward the ocean. Some of these icy giants are over 1,000 years old, their surfaces glowing in shades of white, electric blue, and deep black, streaked with volcanic ash from past eruptions.
If you're visiting between May and October, don’t miss the chance to sail between the icebergs on an amphibious boat tour. As you glide across the lagoon’s crystal-clear waters, you’ll get an up-close look at these frozen giants, their jagged edges sculpted by time and tide.
Keep your eyes on the water as playful seals often swim among the icebergs, adding to the dreamlike beauty of the scene.
A short walk away, Diamond Beach offers a striking contrast where shimmering chunks of ice from the lagoon wash ashore onto the jet-black volcanic sand. These natural ice sculptures glisten under the Arctic midnight sun, creating a dazzling sight that resembles diamonds, hence its name.
The ever-changing landscape means no two visits are the same, with sunrises and sunsets the best times to take pictures. If you're lucky, you might even spot orcas along the shoreline, hunting in the nutrient-rich waters of the North Atlantic.
After soaking in the beauty of these frozen landscapes, you’ll begin your journey back to Reykjavik. Along the way, your local guide may stop at some hidden gems, such as lesser-known viewpoints, scenic trails, or charming villages that add an extra layer of magic to your adventure.
Tomorrow, you’ll have the chance to experience Iceland’s elemental forces—whether it’s venturing inside an ice cave, exploring volcanic landscapes, spotting majestic wildlife, or unwinding in a steaming geothermal hot spring. The choice is yours!

Today, you’re in control of your Icelandic adventure. Do you want to explore icy landscapes, descend into a volcano, encounter incredible wildlife, or unwind in a geothermal oasis? Whatever you choose, you’ll experience a unique side of this extraordinary land.
If glaciers call to you, step aboard a Superjeep monster truck and head toward Langjokull glacier, where a man-made ice tunnel leads deep into the frozen heart of Iceland.
Inside, an intricate network of corridors and chambers glows with shades of deep blue and crystal white, each layer preserving centuries of geological history. Walking through this frozen maze, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into another world—one sculpted entirely by ice and time.
Prefer fire over ice? Then, descend into the Earth's depths inside the Thrihnukagigur volcano, the only place on Earth where you can enter a dormant magma chamber. After hiking to the crater’s rim, you’ll descend over 328 feet (100 meters) into a vast underground cavern large enough to fit a football field.
The walls, once filled with molten rock, are now a masterpiece of nature, displaying stunning shades of red, yellow, and purple from minerals left behind after the last eruption 4,000 years ago. It’s a journey into the raw power of Iceland’s volcanic past.
If you seek relaxation, spend your day at the Sky Lagoon, a spectacular oceanside spa just minutes from the city. As you sink into its steaming, mineral-rich waters, the crisp air and endless views of the Atlantic ocean create a perfect contrast—an experience of pure serenity and rejuvenation.
For those drawn to wildlife, set sail from Reykjavik’s harbor for an unforgettable whale-watching adventure. In these rich Arctic waters, you may spot playful dolphins, massive humpbacks, or even the elusive orca.
Alternatively, saddle up and ride through the Icelandic countryside on a sturdy and sure-footed Icelandic horse, whose unique gait makes the ride exceptionally smooth.

Today is yours to customize, offering an incredible mix of adventure, culture, and exploration. Will you journey to a land of ancient glaciers and rugged coastlines, dive into Reykjavik’s vibrant city life, or enter an incredible lava tunnel? Whatever you choose, an unforgettable experience awaits!
If you set your sights on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, you’ll venture west to one of Iceland’s most diverse landscapes. Dominated by the towering Snaefellsjokull glacier, this region has captivated explorers for centuries and even inspired Jules Verne’s "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
Interestingly, the glacier has been considered a possible entrance to hell since the Middle Ages.
The peninsula’s dramatic black beaches, jagged sea cliffs, and charming fishing villages create a setting that feels straight out of a storybook. At Djupalonssandur, you can test your strength on the old stones of power, once used by sailors to prove their worth.
Further along the coast, you’ll reach Bardarlaug lake, where you can encounter bird-filled cliffs, hidden coves, and even a seal colony basking in the sun. This is also where the great and mythological Jotunn, Bardur Snaefellsas, used to stay.
And, of course, no trip to Snaefellsnes is complete without a visit to the iconic Kirkjufell mountain, known for its distinct cone shape and scenic waterfalls.
If you prefer to explore Reykjavik, you can choose from a range of exciting city experiences. Take a guided beer and schnapps tasting tour, where an expert local will introduce you to Iceland’s unique brewing history, including the country’s beer ban that lasted until 1989.
If you’d rather dive into history and art, the Reykjavik City Card grants access to top museums, galleries, and cultural landmarks. That way, you can explore the city’s rich heritage, including the Vikings era, at your own pace. Another option is to take a small-group walking tour of Reykjavik’s history and culture.
For something more interactive, head to Perlan Museum, where you can walk through a reconstructed ice cave, experience a 360-degree observation deck, and learn about Iceland’s unique geological wonders.
For those craving something more adventurous, step into the depths of Iceland’s volcanic past with a visit to the Raufarholshellir lava tunnel. Carved by an eruption over 5,200 years ago, this massive underground passage showcases layers of vibrant reds, oranges, and blacks left behind by flowing lava.
Walking through this natural wonder, you’ll see towering rock formations and icicles that sometimes form in winter, making it an awe-inspiring experience year-round.
As the day ends, you’ll return to Reykjavik, where another thrilling experience awaits. Whether you dive into the city’s adrenaline-fueled activities or venture into the untamed highlands, tomorrow promises excitement at every turn.

If you choose to stay in Reykjavik, you can experience one of the city’s most unique attractions—the Lava Show.
Located near the harbor, this immersive experience lets you witness molten lava flowing before your eyes, recreating a volcanic eruption in a safe, controlled environment. The heat radiating from the lava, the crackling sounds as it cools, and the mesmerizing glow create a one-of-a-kind spectacle.
For a completely different perspective, FlyOver Iceland offers a state-of-the-art flight simulation that takes you soaring over Iceland’s most stunning landscapes. Suspended in mid-air with wind and mist effects, you’ll feel like you’re gliding over waterfalls, volcanoes, and glaciers—seeing the country in a breathtaking new way.
If adventure calls, hop into a powerful super jeep and head deep into the highlands. Your destination? The breathtaking Landmannalaugar region, where colorful rhyolite mountains, steaming geothermal hot springs, and endless hiking trails await.
As you travel between the mighty Langjokull and Hofsjokull glaciers, you’ll pass through rugged lava fields and ancient landscapes that have remained untouched for centuries. Soak in a natural hot spring surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, or explore the region’s vibrant terrain, shaped by geothermal energy over thousands of years.
Another incredible highland destination is Thorsmork, the Valley of Thor. Only accessible by 4x4, this remote paradise is filled with glacier-carved valleys, braided rivers, and towering mountain ridges.
For those seeking pure adrenaline, hit the trails on an ATV tour just outside Reykjavik. After a quick gear-up and safety briefing, you’ll rev your engine and race across rugged terrain, winding through lava fields, climbing hills, and taking in panoramic views of the capital and surrounding mountains.
Or, if you’d rather experience the thrill of high-speed whale watching, board a two-hour RIB boat tour from Reykjavik harbor.
Unlike traditional whale-watching boats, these smaller, faster vessels allow you to get up close to Iceland’s incredible marine life. Hold on tight as you speed across the open waters of the North Atlantic, scanning the horizon for humpback whales, minkewhales, and even orcas.
Though your tour is coming to an end, Iceland still has so much to offer. With endless wonders yet to be explored, the journey doesn’t have to stop here.

What to bring
Good to know
The Inside the Volcano tour is available from May 10 to October 31 and requires participants to be at least 12 years old. If you are traveling with children between 8 and 11, you can choose another exciting activity for Day 5 to ensure a fun-filled experience for everyone.
If you select this tour, please note that cotton and jeans are not allowed as outer layers during the Thrihnukagigur volcano tour. They absorb moisture and can become uncomfortable inside the crater.
Instead, we recommend wearing waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking shoes to stay warm and dry. Since the temperature inside the crater remains a steady 42–43 F (5–6 C) year-round, dressing appropriately will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
This tour includes a 2-mile (3-kilometer) hike each way, typically taking 45–50 minutes, depending on the group’s pace. A knowledgeable guide will accompany you throughout the hike, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey.
For those interested in snorkeling, participants must be comfortable in the water and able to swim. Additionally, a health declaration or medical documents may be required before snorkeling or diving to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.
If you have any concerns, feel free to consult your travel specialist before booking.
Since highland roads are inaccessible earlier in the season, the Landmannalaugar day tour is available starting June 17. While it’s summertime, Icelandic weather is unpredictable, so we recommend dressing in layers and bringing waterproof gear to stay comfortable throughout the adventure.
Most accommodations include breakfast, but if yours doesn’t, we’ll let you know in advance so you can plan ahead. You’ll also find plenty of cafes and restaurants in Reykjavik and other stops along your journey, ensuring you can always start your day with a great meal before your next adventure.
Please note that your itinerary may be adjusted based on your arrival date and time to ensure you experience all the best activities seamlessly.
Additionally, boat tours on the glacier lagoon are only available from May to October. Be sure to plan accordingly if you wish to include this spectacular experience in your journey.
To make your adventure even more rewarding, booking extra activities alongside this tour package gives you exclusive discounts—allowing you to experience more while getting the best value!
