Welcome to Iceland! Upon landing at Keflavik International Airport, you’ll step onto the lava-scarred landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula, your first glimpse of the country’s dramatic natural beauty.
Before heading to Reykjavik, you have the option to relax at the world-famous Blue Lagoon.
Located in a moss-covered lava field, this luxurious spa is renowned for its soothing geothermal waters, rich in minerals that nourish the skin. The steaming pools, milky blue hues, and volcanic surroundings create a truly otherworldly experience.
If you choose this add-on, your visit will be arranged based on your flight schedule. No time today? No worries—your travel consultant can book it for another day.
Once you arrive in Reykjavik and settle into your accommodation, you’ll have time to explore Iceland’s lively capital at your own pace. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, or gastronomy, there’s plenty to see and do.
Start by visiting Harpa Concert Hall, a striking glass structure and the leading cultural hub of the city. Its 714 glass panels reflect Iceland’s shifting light, making it a spectacular sight day and night.
Just a short drive away, Perlan Museum offers interactive exhibits on Iceland’s natural wonders. Inside, you can explore a man-made ice cave, experience an immersive Northern Lights show, and step onto a 360° observation deck for breathtaking views over Reykjavik.
Next, head to the iconic Hallgrimskirkja Church, Reykjavik’s tallest structure at 245 feet (74.5 meters). Its towering basalt-inspired design dominates the skyline, and you can take an elevator to the top for panoramic views of the city, ocean, and surrounding mountains.
As night falls, Reykjavik transforms into a city of liveliness and charm. Choose from a variety of acclaimed restaurants serving everything from fresh seafood to Icelandic delicacies. Later, explore the city’s thriving nightlife, with its cozy bars, live music venues, and cocktail lounges.
With the midnight sun casting a golden glow over the city, you can wander Reykjavik’s charming streets well into the night before resting up for an exciting day ahead.
Tomorrow, your adventure continues with the legendary Golden Circle, one of Iceland’s most famous sightseeing routes!

- Geysir geothermal area
- Gullfoss waterfall
- More
On your second day, it's time to venture beyond Reykjavik and explore Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle, home to some of the country’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Pack your camera and wear comfortable shoes before your guide picks you up for an unforgettable journey.
Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in history and geology. Over a thousand years ago, Viking settlers founded Althingi, the world’s oldest surviving parliament, here.
This unique site also marks the meeting point of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, where shifting forces have created dramatic fissures in the landscape. One of these fissures, Silfra, is now filled with crystal-clear glacier water, making it one of the best snorkeling spots in the world.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can upgrade your day with a snorkeling tour, where you’ll swim between two continents in some of the clearest water on the planet. Keep in mind that participants need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim.
Next, you’ll visit the Geysir geothermal area, a surreal landscape filled with bubbling hot springs and steaming vents.
Here, you’ll witness Strokkur, the area’s most famous geyser, erupt every few minutes, shooting scalding water high into the air. Thanks to the minerals carried by the boiling water, the surrounding terrain is painted in vibrant hues, giving the entire area a strange, otherworldly look.
The final stop on your Golden Circle journey is Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful and breathtaking waterfalls. This massive cascade, fed by the Hvita glacial river, plunges into a rugged canyon, sending mist into the air and creating rainbows on sunny days.
If you visit in summer, the midnight sun bathes the waterfall in a golden glow, making for an unforgettable sight.
For those seeking extra adventure, you have the option to add a snowmobiling tour that departs from Gullfoss waterfall. You’ll be transported to Langjokull Glacier, where you can speed across its icy expanse on a high-powered snowmobile.
If you prefer a slower-paced thrill, you can opt for a horseback riding tour, where you’ll ride a purebred Icelandic horse through the picturesque countryside and experience its famously smooth gait.
After a day of unforgettable sights and adventure, you’ll return to Reykjavik for the evening. Relax at your hotel or explore more of the city’s vibrant restaurants and nightlife before getting ready for yet another awe-inspiring journey.
Tomorrow, you’ll embark on an epic South Coast adventure, where waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches await!

- Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
- Skogafoss waterfall
- Reynisfjara black sand beach
- Reynisdrangar Sea Stacks
- More
Today, you’ll leave the city once again and embark on an extraordinary journey along Iceland’s stunning South Coast. Your guide will pick you up, and as you head toward Vatnajokull National Park, where you’ll spend the night at the foot of Europe’s largest glacier, you’ll witness some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the country.
Along the way, expect towering waterfalls, volcanic glaciers, black sand beaches, and dramatic coastal cliffs—each stop revealing Iceland’s raw and untamed beauty.
Your first stop is the spectacular Seljalandsfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic sights and must-see stops along the Ring Road route. Cascading 197 feet (60 meters) over a rugged cave, this waterfall is unique because you can walk behind its thundering curtain of water.
A short drive away, you’ll arrive at Skogafoss, a vastly different yet equally mesmerizing waterfall. With a powerful 82-foot (25-meter) wide cascade, its roaring waters generate a fine mist, often forming double rainbows on sunny days.
If you’re up for the challenge, climb the 370 steps to the viewing platform for a panoramic look over Iceland’s South Coast.
As you continue east, glacier-covered volcanoes dominate the horizon. Towering above the landscape are Eyjafjallajokull, famous for its 2010 eruption, and Katla, one of Iceland’s most powerful but hidden giants beneath the Myrdalsjokull glacier.
For an unforgettable adventure, you can add a glacier hiking experience on Solheimajokull, one of Myrdalsjokull’s outlet glaciers. With crampons strapped to your boots, you’ll navigate deep blue crevasses, towering ice formations, and rugged ridges sculpted by the forces of nature.
The black ash streaks covering the ice are remnants of past volcanic eruptions, creating a striking contrast against the pure white snow.
Next, you’ll visit the famous black sand beach of Reynisfjara, where the powerful waves of the North Atlantic crash against the jet-black shoreline. Walk along the volcanic sands and admire the towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks, which rise 217 feet (66 meters) from the ocean like ancient sentinels.
If you’re lucky, you might even spot puffins nesting in the basalt cliffs above.
After an awe-inspiring day filled with waterfalls, glaciers, and volcanic landscapes, you’ll continue east to your accommodations in Southeast Iceland.
Rest up because tomorrow, you’ll visit the breathtaking Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, where you’ll witness giant icebergs drifting across a shimmering lagoon—a sight you won’t soon forget!

Today, you’ll explore one of Iceland’s most mesmerizing destinations, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon! It’s often called “the crown jewel of Iceland’s nature,” and as you arrive, you’ll understand why. This vast, ice-filled lagoon is the country’s largest and deepest, stretching 11.2 square miles (18 square kilometers) with waters plunging to 814 feet (248 meters).
Towering icebergs, some over 1,000 years old, break off from the nearby Breidamerkurjokull glacier and drift serenely across the glassy, deep-blue waters before going to the ocean. The lagoon began forming in 1934 as the glacier started retreating, and since the 1970s, its size has quadrupled—a powerful reminder of Iceland’s ever-changing landscapes.
Seals are often seen swimming between the ice formations, while Arctic terns and other seabirds circle overhead, adding to the lagoon’s ethereal beauty.
If you're visiting between May and October, you can upgrade your experience with a boat tour that takes you right among the floating icebergs. Sailing across the lagoon’s shimmering waters, you’ll get up-close views of these massive ice sculptures, some streaked with volcanic ash from past eruptions.
With the breathtaking scenery surrounding you, this tour is perfect for capturing once-in-a-lifetime photographs.
Just a short walk from the lagoon lies Diamond Beach, where smaller icebergs wash ashore on the black sand, glistening like gemstones under the sunlight. Also known as Breidamerkursandur, this striking contrast between crystal-clear ice and volcanic sand makes for an unforgettable sight and an incredible backdrop for photos.
Take your time admiring the ever-changing landscape, as no two visits to Diamond Beach are ever the same.
After soaking in the beauty of Iceland’s icy wonders, you’ll begin your journey back to Reykjavik, but the adventure isn’t over yet. Along the way, your local guide will make stops at hidden gems and scenic viewpoints, giving you a chance to experience Iceland beyond the usual tourist routes.
Once back in the capital, enjoy a relaxing evening before choosing your next adventure—will you descend into the magma chamber of Thrihnukagigur volcano or venture across the icy expanse of Langjokull glacier? Either way, an unforgettable experience awaits!

Today, you’ll have the chance to choose your adventure—descend into the fiery depths of a dormant volcano or explore the frozen beauty of a glacier!
If you’re drawn to the power of fire, join a thrilling journey into the now-dormant Thrihnukagigur volcano, where you’ll descend deep into its vast, colorful magma chamber. Often compared to a dragon’s treasure trove, this cavernous space is lined with minerals that paint the stone walls in vivid shades of red, orange, blue, and violet—a lasting imprint of the last eruption over 4,000 years ago.
Upon reaching the crater, you’ll gear up with a helmet, harness, and safety equipment before boarding a specially designed elevator crane. The slow, six-minute descent takes you 650 feet (198 meters) down into the heart of the volcano, revealing surreal geological formations shaped by immense heat and pressure.
Once inside, you’ll have time to marvel at the sheer size of the magma chamber and take in the breathtaking beauty of this underground wonder.
If you prefer to keep things cool, embark on an exhilarating day trip to Langjokull Glacier, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. You’ll have the chance to zoom across the ice on a high-powered snowmobile before venturing inside the glacier to explore otherworldly ice halls and tunnels hidden deep within the frozen landscape.
Before riding across the glacier, you’ll gear up with a helmet, balaclava, gloves, and a snowmobiling suit while an expert instructor provides safety guidance. Feel the adrenaline rush as you speed across the icy expanse, surrounded by endless snowfields and breathtaking mountain views.
After your thrilling adventure, you’ll visit two nearby natural wonders—Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls.
Hraunfossar, a series of cascading waterfalls emerging from a lava field, creates an almost mystical sight as it flows into the turquoise river below. Nearby, Barnafoss, known as the “Children’s Falls,” tumbles dramatically through a narrow gorge, its rushing waters carving unique rock formations along the way.
After an action-packed day, you’ll return to Reykjavik for a well-earned evening of relaxation.
Tomorrow, you’ll have one final choice—explore the capital’s rich history, culture, and lively streets, or embark on a breathtaking adventure to the Highlands, where Landmannalaugar’s colorful rhyolite mountains and natural hot springs await!

Today, you have the choice between immersing yourself in Iceland’s breathtaking Highlands or exploring the vibrant capital of Reykjavik.
For an unforgettable adventure into the wild, hop on a super jeep tour to Landmannalaugar, a geothermal paradise nestled beneath the mighty Hekla volcano. This region is famous for its stunning rhyolite mountains, where volcanic activity has painted the landscape in hues of green, pink, and yellow.
The area is also home to steaming hot springs, where you can soak in naturally warm waters surrounded by rugged highland scenery.
If you love hiking, Landmannalaugar offers some of Iceland’s most scenic trails, including paths that connect to the famous Laugavegur trek leading into Thorsmork. Though both areas are part of the Icelandic Highlands, they couldn’t be more different—Landmannalaugar is a raw, exposed wilderness shaped by volcanic forces over millennia.
For those who prefer a laid-back cultural experience, spend the day exploring Reykjavik at your own pace. Wander through the city's charming streets, visit a geothermal pool such as Sky Lagoon, or dive into Iceland’s rich history at one of its many museums.

The card also grants access to the Reykjavik Family Park and Zoo, galleries, and museums—perfect for those looking to make the most of their time in the capital.
If you’re looking for something more active, consider a whale-watching tour from Reykjavik’s Old Harbour. If you haven’t visited yet, this could be the perfect day for a trip to the Blue Lagoon.
As your adventure winds down, prepare for your final day in Iceland.
Tomorrow, you’ll either head to the airport for departure or enjoy a few last moments exploring Reykjavik before saying farewell to this incredible country.

What to bring
Good to know
The Inside the Volcano tour is available from May 10 to October 31 and is open to participants 8 years and older. If you're traveling with younger children (ages 5-7), we recommend choosing the Into the Glacier experience for Day 5 instead.
If you select the Inside the Volcano tour, please note that cotton or jeans are not permitted as your outer layer during the Thrihnukagigur volcano tour. We recommend wearing waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking shoes to stay warm and dry. The temperature inside the crater remains steady at 42–43 F (5–6 C) year-round, so dressing appropriately will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
This tour includes a guided hike from the parking lot to the volcano, covering approximately 2 miles (3 kilometers) each way. Depending on the pace of the group, the walk typically takes 45–50 minutes. A professional guide will accompany you throughout the hike, ensuring a safe and informative journey.
Although summer offers milder weather, Iceland’s climate can be unpredictable, so it's always a good idea to bring appropriate layers and rainproof gear.
Additionally, your itinerary may be adjusted slightly based on your arrival date and time to ensure you get the best possible experience.
For those looking forward to the glacier lagoon boat tour, please note that it operates seasonally from May to October.
While most accommodations include breakfast, a few hostels and guesthouses may not. If your chosen stay does not include breakfast, we will inform you ahead of time so you can plan accordingly. Fortunately, there are plenty of great cafes and restaurants in Reykjavik, making it easy to grab a delicious meal before starting your adventure.
