Welcome to the enchanting land of Iceland, where your adventure begins the moment you step out of the airport and embrace the crisp Icelandic winter air. The journey from Keflavik International Airport to the capital city of Reykjavik offers breathtaking views of Iceland's rugged volcanic landscape, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
On your way to Reykjavik, you may choose to stop at the world-famous Blue Lagoon geothermal spa. Tucked away in a mystical moss-covered lava field, this spa is renowned for its healing mineral-rich waters, striking azure hues, and luxurious treatments.
If you decide to include the Blue Lagoon in your itinerary, it will be seamlessly integrated into your travel plans, either upon arrival or on another day, depending on your flight schedule. Your dedicated travel consultant will take care of all the details, ensuring a smooth and effortless experience.
Reykjavik, the vibrant heart of Iceland, is ready for you to explore should you have any extra free time.
Your carefully selected accommodation combines a prime location with exceptional comfort, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the city's charm. Take a leisurely evening stroll through Reykjavik’s narrow, colorful streets, soak in the local culture, or indulge in the city's delightful culinary offerings at its many bars, coffee shops, and cafes.
If you wish, you can embark on a complimentary northern lights boat tour this evening. Set sail from the Old Harbour near Harpa Concert Hall aboard a charming sightseeing ship and gaze up at the night sky in hopes of witnessing the mesmerizing colors of the aurora borealis.

Day 2 – Reykjavik

- More
- Thingvellir National Park
- Geysir geothermal area
- Gullfoss waterfall
- More
Today, you’ll explore the iconic attractions along the Golden Circle sightseeing route, including Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and the majestic Gullfoss waterfall.
If you opt for horseback riding, you’ll start your day with this adventure before heading to Thingvellir National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is historically significant, as it was the site of the first parliament founded in 930 AD. Viking chieftains gathered here each year to discuss the law, standing on the shores of Lake Thingvallavatn, just as you can today.
The Vikings also marveled at the silvery waters of the Silfra fissure, now popular for snorkeling and diving. If you choose to, you can join a snorkeling tour here. Please note that participants should be comfortable in the water and able to swim.
Thingvellir is a geological wonder, with a gorge marking the division of tectonic plates. Due to the constant pressure of the Earth’s shifting plates, the gorge widens by about 0.8 inches (2 centimeters) each year. While it was narrower a thousand years ago, the Vikings who walked this land may have stood where you are now!
Next, you’ll visit the Geysir geothermal area, famous for its geysers that blast water high into the air. While Geysir remains dormant after nearly 10,000 years of activity, Strokkur erupts every 10 minutes, sending water soaring up to 131 feet (40 meters). You’ll also find over 30 hot springs, bubbling mud pots, and steaming vents, perfect for a leisurely stroll to admire the vibrant mineral colors and flowing waters.
Your final stop is the stunning Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial runoff crashes down over two tiers, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle. The power of the water is palpable, and you can walk along the path to get an up-close view. The river’s energy makes it a popular spot for white-water rafting downstream.
If you’re seeking more adventure, you can opt for a thrilling snowmobile tour on Langjokull glacier after visiting Gullfoss.
After a full day of exploration, you’ll return to Reykjavik to unwind and enjoy another night in the city, resting before your next exciting adventure.

- Skogafoss waterfall
- Reynisfjara black sand beach
- Reynisdrangar Sea Stacks

Today begins a two-day exploration of the beautiful yet wild South Coast, Iceland’s most popular area for sightseeing.
Your adventure starts with a visit to two captivating waterfalls. First, you'll see Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall nestled on a cliff rising from the hillside. A path runs directly behind the falls, allowing you to view the landscape through a curtain of sparkling icicles and cascading water. Be cautious of the icy ground as you walk!
Next, you'll visit Skogafoss, a tall and wide waterfall that is said to conceal buried treasure in its misty pool. On sunny days, rainbows often form above the waterfall, adding to its spectacular beauty.
Your journey then takes you to the famous Reynisfjara beach, with its pearly frost and black sand. Surrounded by towering black basalt cliffs and majestic sea stacks, the beach is a striking sight, though dangerous. Always maintain a safe distance of 66-98 feet (20-30 meters) from the unpredictable waves that crash along the shore.
Afterward, you'll head to Skaftafell National Park, a popular hiking and camping site beside Iceland's largest glacier, Vatnajokull. From the hiking trails, you'll have a stunning view of Iceland's highest peak, Hvannadalshnukur (or Hvannadalshnjukur), which rises to 6,992 feet (2,110 meters).
The final stop of the day is the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, where chunks of ice break off from the Breidamerkurjokull glacier and are carried by meltwater into the lagoon before eventually drifting out to sea.
The ice remains untouched by UV rays, giving it a pure blue color on its underside. Seals play on the ice, and gulls soar overhead, adding to the natural beauty. Nearby, chunks of ice wash up on the black sand of Diamond Beach, sparkling in the sunlight.
You’ll spend the night in a cozy country hotel in Southeast Iceland, perfectly located for a chance to hunt for the northern lights.

These remarkable ice caves are discovered each autumn by specialists who search the countryside for safe and stunning formations. Inside, you’ll be surrounded by walls of transparent blue ice adorned with delicate frost and unique natural ice sculptures.

Take your time to immerse yourself in the ethereal beauty of the ice cave, spending approximately 45 minutes in this magical environment. Be sure to dress warmly for the chilly conditions, and your guide will provide a helmet, so choose a winter hat that fits comfortably underneath.

Here, you’ll witness how the lagoon transforms in the midday light, revealing an even greater array of colors and stunning ice formations. Keep an eye out for seals lounging on the icebergs, adding to the allure of this serene location.
As you head back to Reykjavik, your guide will keep an eye out for the elusive northern lights. If they appear, a stop will be made to witness their mesmerizing dance across the night sky.
You’ll spend the night in Reykjavik, reflecting on the extraordinary experiences and natural wonders you encountered throughout the day.
