Description
Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime with this small-group excursion to Landmannalaugar, a hiking paradise in the world-famous Highlands of Iceland. This tour offers excitement and unforgettable views and concludes with a relaxing soak in the Landmannalaugar natural hot springs.
Every year, adventure seekers worldwide journey to the Landmannalauger hiking area to see its ancient lava fields, crater lakes, and colorful mosses of every shade. You'll understand why it's so popular when you experience the magic for yourself.
Your expert guide will make a few stops to pick up all the participants at the start of the day. You can book the tour with a starting point near your accommodations in Reykjavik, Hveragerdi, Selfoss, or Hella. Pick-up and transfer are included in the price and will be conducted in a 4x4 vehicle so you can traverse the Highlands' notoriously rough roads safely and comfortably.
As you drive to the Highlands of Iceland, your knowledgeable guide will tell you about your surroundings.
Your first activity is a visit to the beautiful Ljotipollur volcanic crater. You'll then continue with a guided hike of the Landmannalaugar trail. Your guide, conducting the tour in English or Spanish, will provide a safe and exciting trek while answering any questions you may have about this breathtaking area.
After working up a sweat on your hike, you'll have the chance to relax your muscles with a visit to the Landmannalaugar hot springs. These lovely warm pools are the perfect way to finish your magical day in Iceland's Highlands.
The hot springs in Landmannalaugar are the perfect temperature for a relaxing soak, but the area is protected and completely natural, so there are no changing facilities onsite. You should thus bring a large towel for coverage while getting in and out of your swimsuit.
As well as your swimsuits and towels for the pool, you'll need enough food and water to last you the entire day.
Additionally, participants should bring appropriate clothes and shoes for hiking. The weather in Iceland, even in summer, can be unpredictable, so be sure to dress in warm, quick-drying clothes and bring waterproof layers.
The trek is not overly strenuous, and most travelers can comfortably complete the route, but it's a relatively long day with a lot of activity, making it quite the adventure.
