- Geysir geothermal area
- Gullfoss waterfall
- More
Today, you’ll set out on an unforgettable journey along the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most famous sightseeing route.
Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland’s first parliament was established in 930 AD. This remarkable location sits between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, creating a dramatic rift valley with stunning rock formations and crystal-clear springs.
Next, you’ll visit the Geysir geothermal area, home to Strokkur, a geyser that erupts 49 to 66 feet (15 to 20 meters) into the air every few minutes. The landscape here is alive with bubbling hot springs, steaming vents, and colorful mineral deposits, making it a fascinating display of Iceland’s geothermal power.
Your final stop is Gullfoss, the Golden Falls, one of Iceland’s most breathtaking waterfalls. It cascades in two stages, dropping 36 feet (11 meters) and then 69 feet (21 meters) into a rugged canyon. During summer, 459 cubic feet (140 cubic meters) of water thunders over the edge every second, creating a mesmerizing display of raw natural power.
Before leaving, you can stop at Gullfoss Cafe to enjoy a selection of soups, salads, and fresh Icelandic pastries.
Several optional tours are available to add more excitement to your day. Snowmobiling on Langjokull glacier allows you to race across an icy expanse with breathtaking highland views.
For a more relaxed adventure, horseback riding through the countryside on a unique Icelandic horse offers a peaceful way to explore Iceland’s rugged terrain. If you’re drawn to underwater wonders, snorkeling in Silfra fissure gives you the rare chance to float between two continental plates in some of the world’s clearest waters.
For those who prefer relaxation over high-adrenaline activities, a visit to the Blue Lagoon can be arranged at the end of your Golden Circle tour.
If your schedule didn’t allow for this experience on day 1, today presents the perfect opportunity to unwind in the soothing, mineral-rich waters of Iceland’s most famous geothermal spa. If time is limited today, it can be scheduled for your arrival or departure day, ensuring that you can fully enjoy its restorative powers without feeling rushed.
After a day filled with incredible sights, you’ll return to Reykjavik for another evening. Take the opportunity to explore the city’s thriving restaurant scene, sip coffee in a cozy café, or experience Reykjavik’s lively nightlife before settling in for the night.

- Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
- Skogafoss waterfall
- Reynisfjara black sand beach
- Reynisdrangar Sea Stacks
- More
Today, you'll start your trip along the South Coast of Iceland and take in all the beauty it has to offer, and your first stop is at the waterfall Seljalandsfoss. This magnificent cascade falls from 197 feet (60 meters) high over a concave cliff, making it possible to encircle the falling spring water fully.
However, encircling the waterfall is only possible during summer when the weather conditions are friendly. Be sure to wear appropriate weather gear, as the waterfall's powerful spray will likely get you wet.
Next up is another waterfall, the vastly different but equally as beautiful Skogafoss. Skogafoss is one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland. It cascades from 197 feet (60 meters) and 82 feet (25 meters) wide. The ground underneath this stunning cascade is very flat, allowing visitors to walk right up to the wall of water.
Upon impact with the ground, the water creates a terrific mist. Interestingly, you may see a double rainbow as the light reflects through the falls.
Today, you will also have the unique opportunity to hike up one of Iceland's many glaciers. This adventure is suitable for all over the age of eight and is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the wild and icy Icelandic nature.
Accompanied by a trained glacier guide, you will hike up Solheimajokull glacier to see the bright blue crevasses and deep glacier moulins on top of this vast ice cap.
Your last stop is at the black sands of the famous Reynisfjara beach, where you can admire the strength of the North Atlantic sea as it crashes upon the shore. In the distance, you will see the oddly-shaped Dyrholaey peninsula, and if you are lucky, you might also spot a puffin or two.
You'll continue east until you arrive at your accommodations for the night in the beautiful Vatnajokull National Park.

Day 4 – Reykjavik

- Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
- Diamond Beach
- More
Today, you will visit Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, one of Iceland's most breathtaking locations. The lagoon is the deepest in Iceland, with depths reaching up to 820 feet (250 meters). Here, giant icebergs, which have broken off a nearby glacier, float on the bright blue water before making their way to the sea.
Jokulsarlon fills with the meltwater from a tongue off Vatnajokull glacier, called Breidamerkurjokull. The icy waters are filled with icebergs that have broken off the glacier (a process called ice calving). These massive ice monuments seem to glow in whites and blues as they travel through the lagoon.
If you want a closer look at these bergs—and perhaps the seals which can often be found swimming in the icy water—you can add a boat tour on Jokulsarlon during the booking process. You'll board a relaxing amphibious boat, perfect for the entire family, and sail on the calm, blue water.
You might even spot some seals playfully swimming or sunning themselves on icebergs.
Alternatively, you could also take a zodiac boat tour of the lagoon. A zodiac boat will allow you to get even closer to the massive icebergs of Jokulsarlon to gain a genuine appreciation of their size.
A short walk from Jokulsarlon is a black beach covered with small icebergs that washed up onshore. In the sunlight, these bergs glisten like precious stones, thus earning the location the nickname "The Diamond Beach." Also known as Breidamerkursandur, Diamond Beach is almost 0.55 miles (900 meters) from the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon.
After exploring the glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach, you will start making your way back to Reykjavik city, where you will spend the night. En route, your local guide will stop at some of his favorite places in the countryside, providing you with a unique experience you likely won't discover by yourself.
