Description

Join this tour for the perfect representation of the natural beauty and thrilling history of Iceland. This tour is perfect for those who only have a short stay in Iceland, or those who want to guarantee a visit to the most famous and intriguing sites in Iceland.

This tour is available with an in bus audio guide in 10 languages (English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Finnish) and the all new fleet is equipped with tables with free wifi. Aboard is also a host who will happily assist you with anything you might need and answer any questions that might arise about our country and culture.

Your first destination will be Þingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the parliament founded there in 930 AD. At Þingvellir, you can stand where the law rock once was and look out over the valley, imagining the thousands of Vikings gathered there to hear the law of the land recited before each parliament meeting.

Þingvellir is on the shores of Þingvallavatn, the largest natural lake in Iceland. There are several fissures leading into it from the park, filled with cool, crystalline streams which plunge deep into the earth.

Next, you’ll visit Geysir geothermal area, some of the most raw and desolate landscapes of Iceland. The geothermal area is filled with fizzy mud pots, seething steam vents and gushing geysers. Though Geysir is the most famous of those at this location, it is inactive. Its brother, Strokkur, is much more active, though, and is happy to show off for you with an eruption every 10 minutes.

Finally, the singular feature for which the Golden Circle is named is Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall. It was a symbol of prosperity to the Scandinavians who first came to Iceland seeking their own lands and a new life. Thousands of gallons of water shoot over the falls, crashing to the riverbed below. The strength of this waterfall is undeniable. Your fingers and chest will vibrate from the thundering force of it if you take the short path directly over the falls. Don’t forget to search the mists hovering over the water for a rainbow.

This tour is one of the most popular in Iceland. Check availability by choosing a date.
