Snaefellsjokull National Park, meanwhile, is less than an hour away, where you can find spectacular sites such as Djupalonssandur beach, Vatnshellir lava cave, and, of course, Snaefellsjokull glacier itself.

There are two accommodation options at the Dis Cottages, one tailored to couples and another to larger groups. The smaller, studio cottages are incredibly cosy and warm, with double beds, luxurious furnishings and spectacular views. They have kitchenettes with a stove and other necessary equipment, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and patios with access to the surrounding nature.

The bigger cottages are similar but boast a layout with two separate bedrooms, and a large sofa bed in the living area.
